Dr. Simon JS Cameron

Simon leads a research group at Queen’s University Belfast in the School of Biological Sciences and the Institute for Global Food Security which specialises in human milk research. The primary focus of the group is in exploring the role that early-life feeding plays on the formation of the human microbiome. One of the major developing projects within the group is exploring the bioavailability of pharmaceuticals in human milk during lactation to build a better evidence base for clinical guidelines of medicine use during breastfeeding.
