Located in Austin, Texas, Tom leads the implementation of new technologies to support clinical trials and improve lives. These include patient centric blood sampling, pharmacogenomics and laboratory automation. Tom’s interest in patient centric sampling began in 2009 while leading efforts at Wyeth Research to find blood sampling and analysis approaches to support smaller sampling. A broader interest in ethical research sampling dates back to 1995 at Glaxo as part of efforts to reduce the number of animals needed to advance drug research, implementing in vivo screening of mixtures of compounds and replacing in vivo screening with in vitro screening.
The patient experience is central to their well-being.
