Improving access to blood tests for people with learning disabilities: FAQs, guidance and next steps

Tuesday June 2nd, 2026 - 9am ET, 2pm BST, 3pm CET

FAQ to be addressed as follow up to Morecambe Bay’s press release telling Abigail’s Story – building the future of patient centric sampling together

Since the press release from University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust describing the life changing use of upper arm capillary sampling in our patients with learning disabilities (Abigail’s Story), we have been inundated with requests for more information on how we established the project and the TAP device. We invite you to join the webinar where we will address the most frequently asked questions and hopefully engage some of you in building the service so it becomes more widely available to this patient group.

Catch up on Abigail’s story here.

What you will learn

General project background – how we got to where we are today with capillary sampling for our patients with learning disabilities. What will your project team look like and what are the project sticking points? We will invite you all to help decide how we build this process for all UK patients with learning disabilities.
